Disclaimer & evidence policy
How ESMI decides what may be published as fact, and what must be labelled as unproven.
Last updated 2026-09-08
Four labels, one rule
Material performance claims should be read with their source, status and limitations. These four labels describe the strength and type of evidence, not a guarantee of results.
- Verified — an independent record exists outside ESMI, such as a government decision, an accredited laboratory report or a public register.
- Reported — a programme, partner or supplier measured it and wrote it down, but no independent third party has confirmed it.
- Target — a figure we are working towards. Not achieved, not promised.
- Research — still being tested. A research direction, not a capability you can buy today.
What we will not say
We do not claim that our biological work removes mercury or cyanide from soil or water. Our source documentation does not support that claim, so it does not appear on this site as fact.
We do not claim exclusive national rights to any product unless we can produce the licence or contract that grants them.
We do not describe research findings as delivered capability, and we do not present a partnership with one faculty or one programme as institution-wide endorsement.
POCO is a stimulator
POCO is a micro-organism stimulator. It feeds and activates micro-organisms that are already present in the soil. ESMI does not manufacture micro-organisms, and this website does not claim that it does.
Challenge us
If you find a claim on this website without adequate evidence behind its label, tell us. We will either produce the source or take the claim down. That is the whole point of publishing the labels.
